So it turns out that we crafty types are a longarm-quilt-machine-dreaming bunch of people. To own a longarm machine was by far the most popular answer to my Giveaway Day question and I really don’t blame you all. That would be amazing!
Personally though, my heart was with those of you that thought weaving would be a good dream-craft; if I have the space, I’d long for a loom. There will never be enough space in this Button house, so I will have to keep it as a dream. But, oh, to wear woven handspun yarn – yum! And I’m also with the many people who didn’t need more stuff so much as more time. I would love to sew more by hand – everything by hand! – if I had enough time to do it in!
What I found most interesting about all of your answers was that so many of you said that you “do everything already”. This made my needlecrafting heart happy, because I often feel like I have to break down and choose to give something up, because I just can’t fit it all in and end up feeling like I have no real focus. But I don’t want to have to choose! I love all of my crafts so much and I was so happy to hear that you feel the same way.
Anyway, it’s time to announce the winner and get a package down to the post office, but just quickly: thank you so much to all of you that liked our prize enough to enter. I’ve never nearly had so many entries to a giveaway before! I hope some of you will stick around to see if you like what I get up to!
Ok, here we go! Mr. Randompants, who will be our winner today?!
Commenter #190: DeborahGun, who said: I would love love to try dressmaking. I have recently started a little bit of embroidery so this is a lovely giveaway – thankyou!
YAY! I’m so happy to send this little embroidery kit to a budding stitcher! I’ll be emailing you shortly, Deborah – and thanks again, everyone!
